How it all started...
Peace Lutheran Church was founded in 2014 by a small group of Christians meeting together for worship, study, and prayer. They held services at the municipal building in the Alley downtown Aiken. With funding and support from the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, these Christians took up their mission with this singular goal: to show the city of Aiken what Real Peace can look like. Under the leadership of the Lord of the Church and the guidance of founding pastor, Jonathan Bourman, Peace has carried out its mission.
A blessed ministry...
In 2017, Peace Lutheran moved into its permanent location. What was once the home of a car dealership and a music store would now be the home of the eternity-changing gospel. By God's grace and his power alone as he used the faithful efforts of his people, Peace's membership grew from a few dozen people to a couple hundred.
A mission-minded future...
The Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) drives the vision for who we are and where we're headed. No matter how the Lord decides to bless our church family, our single goal never changes: show the city of Aiken what Real Peace can look like. One person at a time. One family at a time. We have always preached the Word of God and by God's grace, that will never change. The future of our ministry is to bring the Peace of knowing Jesus to the next generation.
