What We Believe

"Let the one who would hear God speak, read Holy Scripture." - Martin Luther

Timeless Truth. Modern Church.

The Bible teaches that men, women, and children are rescued from sin and its effects by the rich and undeserved mercy of God, and that through a heart-level trust in Jesus called faith, forgiveness and real, lasting life become ours. We believe this because it is the clear and bright truth of God's Word. In it we believe we're given the only rule and norm for all life and faith - making us aware of sin, forgiveness in Jesus, and giving us empowerment for Spirit-filled living.

By Faith Alone

Through the Word and Sacraments (Baptism and the Lord’s Supper), God creates faith (or trust) in our hearts and makes us his children. That faith is a free gift! We need NOTHING more than faith to be right with God.

By Grace Alone

There is absolutely nothing that we could ever do to earn or deserve God’s forgiveness. He saves us and gives us faith out of the goodness of his heart. That’s grace!

By Scripture Alone

Scripture is the one place we can go to learn all we need to know about our relationship with God. The Bible is the eternally relevant truth that, unlike everything else in life, never changes. What God says about himself and what he says about you is true today, tomorrow, and forever. That’s why we’re committed to never adding to or subtracting from what God has graciously told us in his Word.

We confess...

We are...

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth,

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

These words of the Apostles' Creed, along with the Nicene and Athanasian Creed, have served as summaries of Spirit led and scriptural faith since the earliest days of Christianity.
Lutheran. We are a part of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). Click here to learn more about WELS. To be Lutheran simply means that we accept the scriptural truths that ignited the reformation of the Christian church in the 16th century and led to a renewed focus on the gospel.

As a result we uphold a beautiful view of God's love: that a person is saved by God's grace through faith, apart from works. We confess that God is so powerful and so searching with his love that he is actively working through the gospel in the Word, baptism, and Lord's Supper to save and sustain sinners.
